LoRa module for sending unlicensed text messages without internet

How about a LoRa module so I can create a bidirectional text project sp I can send unlicensed text messages to my Grandson who lives 2 miles away?

Yes LoRa , not GSM as gsm requires subscription from mobile carriers.
